EGN Email

Notice: Email settings have been changed as of Friday 7th December 2007.


If you are an administrator or a rental customer of EGN Australia, you are entitled to a free <yourname>@egn.com.au email account. You can access your EGN Email account in one of two ways, webmail, or POP3.

Webmail

Simply browse to http://egn.net.au/webmail/


POP3

This method is suitable for desktop email clients such as Thunderbird or the built in Windows client, Outlook Express.

Whatever you do, don't use Microsoft Outlook - this is the worst email application in history!

Anyway, the settings you'll need for your email client are:

  • Incoming Server (POP3): mail.egn.net.au
  • Account Name (Login): <yourname>@egn.com.au
  • Password: <provided>
  • Outgoing Server (SMTP): This should be set to that of your Internet Server Provider. A list of the SMTP servers of various Australian ISP's can be found here: Australian SMTP Server List
