aupug is a PUG (Pick up Game) service hosted in Melbourne, Victoria by EGN.

For people who know what a PUG is

If you're interested in pugging come into irc.gamesurge.net and join either #aupug where the EGN VIC 1.6 PUG is located.

EGN's VIC 1.6 PUG is powered by a pugbot which was developed by an EGN administrator. For a full list of pug commands scroll down.

For those who don't

A PUG channel is a channel dedicated to organizing scrims amongst random members of the public at any time of the day by a bot usually coded in mIRC.

To participate in the PUGs all you have to do is download and install mIRC from the mIRC website. Once installed open mIRC and type "/server irc.gamesurge.net -j #aupug".

Once in the channel you can use the IRC commands as listed below to participate in the pug. If you manage to get in by saying !join quick enough a bot will message you an IP and password of a Counter Strike 1.6 server to connect to, once you're in the server the ingame pug admin will run a scrim in MR15 format. Once you have had time to take a look at how it all works then you can take a shot at adminning a pug yourself by saying !pug [map] in #aupug.

PUGs usually take place from 11am untill 2am (times may vary) so head in if you get the chance.

Applying for an admin position

You will rarely find that aupug will go on an admin recruiting spree. New admins are generally selected by the current admins however you can still PM an admin and ask.

PUG Commands

IRC

!join - Joins active PUG

!leave - Leaves active PUG

!details - Get IP and password for server

!players - See who is playing

!pug - Start a pug (!pug de_nuke)

!stats - view your kill/deaths stats

Ingame

!auth - Login as admin (!auth pass)

!score - View scores

!admin - See who is admin

!players - See who is meant to be playing

!stats - view your stats

Ingame admin

!lo3 - exec war.cfg and exec lo3.cfg runs using this.

!kick - kick player (!kick #4)

!irc - sends message to irc (!irc Get in)

!bl - kicks person who left in the past 90 seconds

!ff - turn friendly fire on or of (!ff 0)

!get - asks for a new player in irc

!password - changes the password (!password test)

!endpug - ends current pug and shuts down server

!restart - restarts round

aupug admins

!uptime - check bot uptime

!endpug - end active pug

!authpw - get the authpw via PM for ingame use

!enable - turn on the pug

!disable - disable the pug

!admins - view pug admins and see instructions on adding admins

!rconsay - rcon say to server

!dets - get server details without waiting for pug to be full or without being in the players list

!permbans - list bans

!banid [steamid] - Ban a steam id

!unbanid [steamid] - unbans a steam id

FAQ's

Bans

Q. I've been banned for leaving early, how do I get unbanned?

A. Bans for leaving early only last for 6 hours and are not perminant. Your best bet is to just wait it out.

mIRC mods

The developer of the aupug pugbot offers some of his mIRC modifications to the public to make life easier.

One of these mods is the "aupug alert tool". As the screenshot to the right shows it simply pops up when you've joined a pug and launches Counter Strike and connects to the server for you with the click of 1 button. Rules

Bannable offences:

Hacking

Anti flash Anti smoke: 3 month ban

Wall hacking and Aimbotting): 1 year ban

Racism

Racism will not be tolerated and will result in a 2 week ban

Abuse

Towards admins: 1 month ban

Towards other users: 1 week ban

Towards the pug service: To be decided by admin

Ingame antics

Team killing: Team killing may result in a 1-2 week ban

Team flashing: Team flashing may result in a 1 week ban

Leaving pugs: Leaving a pug before it ends may result in a 6 hour ban (!bl)

Swearing

Although CS is a game meant to be played be people aged 15 and above we still do not allow users to swear excessively ingame or in the irc channel and may be dealt with accordingly by an admin.

Abusing admin rights

By starting a pug and then abusing the right to admin a pug by kicking people to let your friends in or banning people who timed out may result in you being banned from playing.
