Hey old and recent EGN folk. I was very sorry to hear EGN going down :(

I'd like to thank Alex for his A-grade work for so many years, Bounty/Blanc/Spirit/Serpent for their awesome admin services and the egn community for making the servers and forums an awesome place while it was around. I'll see you around :)

P.S Giving a massive shoutout to two old-school players who rocked back in the day- Fuzzy Brows and Prowler.

Guys please get rid of the opening on the egn.com.au ...ppl think we dont have any servers there not reading the whole message ...can we please start with new servers more prominent up the top and not the closing  down of the server on january 11 ....and OMG..cry:(....... and the CYAS and try and organize ppl on the servers even if its the admins only we need to be more pro active more ppl see the servers running with ppl in them they will come back

if we dont ppl will think egn is dead

Well I haven't been the most active admin for a while but it's still sad to see it go, may you all have fun in your future endeavours.

Well was a bit surprised when i thought i would go and check out EGN forums, after about 6 months of not going on there and i found this messege.

First came across when i was with Datafast on Dial up and joined their forum, pretty soon the server got changed over to what we have/had today.

Got hooked on the Old, CSS and after a while i started using the Ban Upload tool that i think CC made at the time ( a few admins had that to upload direct to them)
Soon after a dozen or so bans, i was asked if i would like to join the admin team, i was thrilled.

But after a year or so my intrested in games lacked a bit and felt i was on the servers more just to catch cheaters than actually play the game, so i resigned.

Overall i had a great experiance with this community, good discussions where had and good suggestions for servers/mods/changes too.

Personally i blame console games for the death >:  xbox live and such, and hopefully no other company releases games that have a similar MP style to MW2
The Death of Dedicated Servers, is what will kill communitys.

Will Catch all you Guys Around, espically you guys playing Killing Floor :D

Not long to go now until the servers are taken off line, that will be a sad day.

I have got a lot of good memories with the time I have spent with EGN, sure there were a lot of times that I could of hunted a few people down and throttled them, but all in all it has been a blast.

The admins that were involved with EGN were as far as I am concerned, the best there is. That might sound a bit biased, but it is the truth. Some were laid back, so laid back there were times people would think they were sleeping. Some were hard but fair, but all in all they all got the job done.

I would just like to thank a few people, Optik and Scum for taking the chance with me and making me part of the management team for which I will be forever grateful. Arbitrator and Blancmange for been there when I had a problem that I could not sort out myself. Arith, Street Pig, Karma, AsphyXxia, Dark Spirit, Darkrayne, Serpent, Wraithlord, Azrael, Zarco, Kay, Frog, Ender, Taco, Element, Fuzzybrows, Smoty, Sniperwolf, Dogmatix, Beats, Strikey, Soul Stealer, Solid Snake and any other CS/CSS admin I might of missed, for putting up with me been grumpy at times. I would also like to thank all the Americas Army admins, I might not have had much to do with you Guy's, but that is due to you were able to sort out any problems etc on your own. Without all of you EGN would not of been what it had become, one of the best gaming networks around.

One last thank you goes to all the dedicated gamers that joined the EGN servers, with out all of you, EGN would not of progressed.

I knew about you guys closing down for some time now. It's sad to see you go. I remember back in my CSS days always looking for EGN CSS #08 because it was guaranteed good times by all, and infact before iiGames grew, you guys were my gaming port-of-call.

Best of luck in the future guys. Perhaps you'll come back in some form or another in the near future.

To the gamers who played the servers, thank you. Without your continuous support EGN wouldn't have been what it is. To my fellow admins, these things happen, but it's been fun hey? We've had some laughs and schooled some nubs but like everything it's to hit F10 on EGN.

On behalf of the ESportsWA/WALinerz community I'd like to extend my thanks and respect to Alex (Optik) and the rest of the EGN Organisation for providing us with not only the best Competitive Source LANs over the years, but also quite possibly the best game servers in Australia. EGN has continually provided us with Atleast 2 CSS Servers for the past 3 years, it has been a big factor to why the WA Source community has been able to stay viable for so long. I cant thank you guys enough for making the game that i spend the most time in more enjoyable over the years.

I cant see any other organisation ever filling the shoes EGN has over its 8 years of operation, so im glad to have experienced the peak of its operation. GL to Alex and all the other admins with whatever they decide to do.

I have only been playing EGN full time for a couple of years and made heaps of Friends its sad in a way cause mainly late at nights i would sit up and play EGN dust's Server to try to get points. lol stat whore. I hope EGN will R.I.P and maybe some day get reserected one day.

it's a sad day, i still remember the good old days of ns on the egn servers
